1. JOB TITLE
The Producer is an off-site position, and requires someone to work autonomously on the audio production of the program’s song. You will be solely responsible for the composition, instrumentation, vocal editing (tuning, re-timing), production and (basic) mastering of the participants’ song.
Prior to the workshop, you will produce a simple instrumental guide track for the song in consultation with the facilitator, which will be the backing to which the rest of the song will be written. It should have a clear Intro, 2 Verse, Chorus, Middle 8 format, and should be produced to an appropriate level.
During the workshop, as vocals are recorded, you will be required to perform simple editing (tuning and re-timing) of vocal stems, and complete the production of the track to MusoMagic standards.
3. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Producers are expected to have experience in audio production, mixing and editing, and be able to work autonomously in their own studio, with their own equiment. The role prefers experienced producers, who are:
- Competent singers
- Comfortable writing and recording harmonies
- Confident instrumentalists (piano & guitar)
- Able to work with Logic Pro X
- Adept at Melodyne or other audio editing software
Members of the MusoMagic team must behave as role models whenever you are representing the company. It is highly favoured that you be healthy, fit, energetic, active, and make positive life choices whilst publically representing MusoMagic.
The Producer reports directly to the program Facilitator, and in close consultation with the Audio Tech. For many workshop programs, you will need to communicate regularly and clearly with MusoMagic management via email and phone to transfer audio files.
You must communicate regularly and clearly with the other members of the team, and delegate tasks as necessary. If extra recording or changes are required, prompt and clear communication with the Audio Tech is required.
