MusoMagic® for Schools is an exciting two-day workshop in which students work together to write and record a song that is fully produced and ready for radio airplay.
MusoMagic for Schools
Created by ARIA award-winning singer/songwriter Adam Thompson (Chocolate Starfish), MusoMagic is a unique opportunity to engage students through music and ignite their enthusiasm for learning.
Through the MusoMagic experience they explore songwriting, learning techniques that encourage creative thinking and writing, with a strong focus on literacy and sentence structure.Students also record the song and create artwork for their CD cover as well as film and edit their song's video clip.
The workshop culminates with a live performance of the song in front of an audience of their teachers, families and peers.
MusoMagic recognises that all students have different needs and that some thrive on alternatives to the traditional classroom to achieve.
The success of Muso Magic has shown that giving students the chance to learn in non-traditional environments can increase their enthusiasm for school and the liklihood that they will go to complete 12 years of schooling. Previous musical experience is welcomed but not required.
“The spin-off from Muso Magic® has been brilliant. Kids that did it have a new, specially strong bond. Kids that missed out wished they’d got themselves organized earlier! Now that I’ve shared Muso Magic® with my beaut kids, the relationship is even better…you made us all feel so good about ourselves; you showed us possibilities and gave us a unique opportunity." - Teacher, Hervey Bay, Aug 2004
