Dance / Movement #1 – Introduction
Together, we will start to explore how to create dance / movements to given stimulus. Using a set of images, we will create representative movements in a sequence, and match their routine to music. The session will explore different ways to physically express objects, movements and ideas.
EXAMPLE LESSON PLAN
0:00 – 0:15: Watch video and explain activity.
0:15 – 0:30: Split into small groups to discuss several dance movement options for first picture.
0:30 – 0:45: Practice movements to some music or metronome.
0:45 – 1:00: Present ideas to class and discuss
Extension: Use picture card 2 in smaller groups, present and discuss
Extension: Use picture card 3 individually for solo presentation and discussion.
