LESSON 10: Sound Foley
This lesson will explore the effect of sound foley on a story in a ‘live’ radio play setting. Students in groups of around four will compose a short story, which they will embellish with sound effects. They will have to think creatively about what they can use from the classroom or schoolyard (and how they use it) to create suitable sounds for their story. They must use at least five different items of foley in their story. They will then present the radio play to the group.
EXAMPLE LESSON PLAN
0:00 – 0:15: Watch video and explain activity.
0:15 – 0:30: Split into groups to collect foley items.
0:30 – 0:45: Devise story and rehearse stories.
0:45 – 1:00: Present ideas to class and discuss.
