LESSON 6: Rhyme

In this lesson, we will explore rhyming (and near-rhyming) words, and how they can be used in music. We’ll start by playing a simple game involving students in a circle, passing around a ball by matching rhyming words. Next, students will be asked to pick two rhyming words from a pile, and make a short rap out of them (ie: I met a funny CAT, he told me his name’s MATT). We will also present a rhyming worksheet involving matching rhyming words, creating new rhymes for existing words, and then stitching the words into a rhyming story.
