LESSON 7: Character Creation

This lesson is all about creative thinking – exploring the imagination through art, movement and more. We will begin with a simple exercise in which students must look at an abstract picture, and fill out questions about their character on a simple worksheet (ie: “I am from…”, “When I move it looks like…”, etc). The students will then swap sheets, and draw a visual representation of the other student’s worksheet (without seeing the original picture).

EXAMPLE LESSON PLAN

0:00 – 0:15: Watch video and explain activity.
0:15 – 0:30: Complete worksheet.
0:30 – 0:45: Swap sheets and do creative drawing exercise.
0:45 – 1:00: Present ideas to class and discuss.
Extension: In pairs, students can present their new creature to the class in the form of a nature documentary.
