LESSON 13: Metaphor and Simile
Students will learn about non-literal representation, starting with a worksheet to help identify metaphors and similes. They will then compose their own similes and metaphors in small groups, and look at how visual art can use these concepts to deepen their meaning – students will display both a literal and non-literal representation in a single image. Once created, they will present their work and discuss their choices with the class.
